We talk about investment portfolios, asset allocation, investment opportunities and tax considerations but rarely do we talk about "debt management". We recently heard from the media that Canadians' debt had reached a record level of 164% of disposable income, meaning that a person with after-tax income of $100,000 would have total debt of $164,000, regardless of the total value of his or her assets. Is this figure really so alarming or is it an attention-getting strategy? (French only).
